U.S. LNG feedgas demand eased slightly last week but remains very strong, with all terminals operating at or above nameplate capacity and most running at winter peak levels.
Last week, U.S. LNG feedgas demand averaged 18.8 Bcf/d, down about 0.5 Bcf/d week-on-week, primarily driven by lower intake at Sabine Pass. Sabine Pass, the largest U.S. terminal, remained above its contracted utilization level for the week. Fluctuating feedgas is normal this time of year.
Intake at the commissioning Plaquemines has mostly been above 4 Bcf/d so far in January, after hovering around 3.8 Bcf/d for most of December. Venture Global is currently marketing all cargoes produced at Plaquemines itself and will continue to do so until the middle of the year.
