Total U.S. production of propane/propylene remained relatively steady, according to new data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), but the inventory build was lower than survey expectations.
Production edged up by only 51 Mb/d or 2% from the prior week to 2.7 MMb/d (red line in graph below) while inventories (red bar in second graph) built by 1 MMbbl for the week ended August 23. This increase was below estimates of 1.53 MMbbl and less than half of the prior week's record build of 2 MMbbl.
