The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) is the only U.S. terminal equipped to fully load Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs). In June 2025, zero crude oil vessels were loaded for export out of the terminal. 

The terminal began export operations in 2018. Since then, LOOP (blue bars in chart below) has served as Louisiana's dominant export facility, historically exporting more volume each month than the next three largest terminals in Louisiana - Chevron Empire, Sunoco St. James, and Plains St. James - combined (green bars in chart below).
