Natural Gas midstream behemoth, Kinder Morgan has issued a Force Majeure notice following a fire at its Centerville, TN compressor station. The company has said all the facility's workers are accounted for and no serious injuries were sustained. A brief evacuation was issued for residents and business operators located within a 1-mile radius of the compressor station until the fire was contained and incident site was stabilized, avoiding additional catastrophe.

Kinder Morgan in yesterday's (8/21) update to the Force Majeure notice said that the incident was caused by a mechanical issue and that as much as 450 MMcf/d of southbound capacity will be affected until repairs are completed. The company gave October 1st, 2023 as the earliest date it could expect operational service to return.
