The RBN Crude Voyager report shows that activity across the U.S. Gulf Coast continued at a frenetic pace as the export terminals collectively loaded more than 4 MMb/d of crude oil for export in the week ended June 30. These volumes were, however, 286 Mb/d lower than in the previous week. With three consecutive weekly loadings of more than 4 MMb/d, exports in June are estimated at 3.8 MMb/d. After lackluster figures in May, a recovery in seaborne shipments in June pushed the H1 2023 volume to 3.8 MMb/d, up 0.8 MMb/d from the same time last year.
Houston-area terminals loaded near-record shipments last week at 1.2 MMb/d, which was 114 Mb/d short of the peak volume seen in mid-March. In June, Corpus Christi and Louisiana terminals loaded more cargoes than in May. Shipments from Corpus Christi were the second highest in June at 2.4 MMb/d, while Louisiana-area terminals loaded 69 Mb/d more month-on-month at 321 Mb/d. It is worth noting that data for June is currently incomplete, with only 29 days accounted for so far.
