Cheniere said it exported its first LNG cargo from Corpus Christi Stage III earlier this month, and anticipates making construction improvements throughout the year.

The company announced in its fourth-quarter earnings that it expects to complete Train 1 by the end of March. Trains 1 to 3 are expected online this year, and the entire seven-train expansion is due online by the end of 2026.

Corpus Christi Stage III receives feedgas exclusively from the ADCC pipeline, which is an intrastate and does not report flows. Additionally, the project (see picture below) uses the existing terminal’s marine infrastructure, which makes progress on the expansion uniquely difficult to track.

Full utilization for Train 1 would be about 200 MMcf/d of feedgas. Cheniere said that it plans to reach a final investment decision for the Midscale Modular project, which would add two additional trains to the Stage III facilities this year after its remaining regulatory permits are granted.
