Topics in Module 6 Include:
Module 6.1 — H2 Market Overview: Gray, Green, Blue, Pink
Presenter: Jason Lindquist
There has been a lot of attention put on hydrogen over the last couple of years and it plays a central role in the Biden administration’s plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and spur the development of a clean-hydrogen industry. This module provides an overview of hydrogen supply and demand, takes a closer look at the different varieties of hydrogen (gray, green blue and pink), and explains the 45V Production Tax Credit and the so-called “three pillars” of clean hydrogen production.
Module 6.2 — H2 Infrastructure
Presenter: Noel Copeland
RBN is tracking dozens of planned or existing projects to produce low-carbon hydrogen, from the Gulf Coast and the Northeast to the West Coast and Western Canada. This module takes a closer look at where those projects are located, the type of hydrogen to be produced, and key details about select projects. Additionally, this module outlines the Department of Energy’s plan to develop a series of regional clean hydrogen hubs.
Module 6.3 — Lab Model: Hydrogen Calculator
Presenter: David Braziel
There are a lot of different units to describe a volume of hydrogen kilograms, standard cubic feet, metric tons and British thermal units to name just a few. If you’re not familiar with them, it can be very difficult to get a feel for the scale of some of the new projects being announced or even the size of the market. This section demonstrates how to use our model to convert a volume of hydrogen into common units of mass, gaseous volume, liquid volume, and energy.
