Crude exports out of the Gulf Coast averaged 5.1 MMb/d (far right of chart below) for the week ended June 5. U.S. oil and gas rig count gained one rig to 563 for the week ending June 5 according to Baker Hughes data, with little movement across most basins, as a two-rig gain in Permian offset a one-rig decline in Anadarko and all other basins were unchanged.
In Western Canada the oil-directed rig count increased by six this week, to 113 active rigs, which is 32% higher than the prior 10-year high for this time of year, while the gas-directed rig count increased by one to 54 rigs this week, in line with the prior five-year high for this time of year.
